The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. In the interest of the public health and safety of our community, King Avenue Church has made the decision to suspend in-person worship services, small groups, and non-essential activities effective immediately – at least through April 4, 2020. This decision was made prayerfully and with great consideration to continue to align with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and Governor DeWine to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Miscast Cabaret auditions are canceled for Sunday, March 15 and Monday, March, 16. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page & website for information about future productions. ABOUT Actors singing actresses’ showstoppers, young women filling old men’s roles and seniors playing ingénues. You don't want to miss your chance to be part of this evening of madcap musical magic. Join us for a hilarious mix-up of performers singing songs from roles in which they would NEVER be cast. AUDITIONS Cancelled Light-hearted/humorous songs as well as duets, trios and group numbers are strongly encouraged. Those auditioning will be asked to perform the song they would like to sing in the MISCAST CABARET. Songs should be from any Broadway musical. An accompanist will be provided. Those cast in the MISCAST CABARET may be asked to learn and participate in a group number. They may also be asked to learn individual solos and/or duets. While music will be reviewed in rehearsal, participants are responsible for learning their own music. When: Saturday, September 7th, 2019 (9/17/19) Time: 1:00pm-6:00pm Where: Columbus Performing Arts Center (CPAC) 549 Franklin Avenue Columbus, OH 43215 Performers age 10 and up are encouraged to audition. ***Parking is available free of charge on Franklin Avenue in addition to the parking lot directly across the street from CPAC *** Every year, the Theatre Roundtable hosts Unified Auditions to provide an opportunity for both amateur and professional actors to be seen by central Ohio producers and directors. These auditions are for stage, not film. Audition Requirements: Auditionees will have two minutes for their audition. This two minutes can be used however you would like: one monologue of considerable range; two contrasting monologues; one song of considerable range; a monologue and a song; etc. There will not be a dance audition. Technical and Other Professionals: There will NOT be tech interviews on September 7th held by Theatre Roundtable. However, like in previous years, technical theatre and other professionals (designers, directors, choreographers, etc.) are encouraged to submit their resumes to be distributed to the producers. Please pay the registration fee of $10,fill out the registration form, and send your professional materials to Colleen Dunne directly and include a short message in the body of the email specifying that you are submitting as a technical professional. Cost: There is a $10 fee to audition; that fee provides with you an audition slot and qualifies you to get a discounted $5 ticket to the Theatre Roundtable Awards. Please pay this fee ahead of time. If you are unable to pay ahead of time, contact Colleen Dunne. Fees will be accepted the day of; however, you must pay the fee to audition. All paid audition fees are non-refundable. All registrations made after the deadline of Sunday, September 1st, will be considered late. See below for more information about late registrations. If you registered prior to Sunday, September 1st, but are unable to pay until the week of or day of Unified Auditions, you will only need to pay $10 and are not considered late registration. ***The deadline to sign up for auditions is Sunday, September 1st. We are accepting late registrations and walk-ups if there are available slots; however, the registration fee is $25 after Sunday, September 1st, including the day of auditions, and you must provide 25 hard copies of your headshot and resume for producers.
