Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. All profits will be donated to Kaleidoscope Youth Center and Equitas Health. 

ABOUT:
This staged reading is in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the death of Matthew Shepard, the young man who, in October 1998, was savagely beaten and left to die in Laramie, Wyoming.

THE LARAMIE PROJECT is a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.

PLEASE NOTE:

This show is not suitable for young audiences as it contains strong adult language, adult situations, and adult subject matter including descriptions of violence in a brutal hate crime.

In this brilliant and powerful drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students.

Actors singing actresses’ showstoppers, young women filling old men’s roles and seniors playing ingénues. You don't want to miss this evening of madcap musical magic. Join us for a hilarious mix-up of some of Columbus’ best performers singing songs from roles in which they would NEVER be cast.

THE MUSIC MAN
The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall.

About Auditions
Please prepare 16-32 bars from a musical, preferably not from the show.


Those auditioning will be asked to cold read a scene from the show and learn a brief choreography sequence. 

Please bring a calendar and any conflicts with you to auditions.

If available, but not required, please bring a head shot and resume. 

This is unpaid and non-equity. 

Please note: Since children will be cast in the show, all individuals 18+ associated with the show will be required to complete a background check.

Leapin’ lizards! Annie, one of America’s favorite spunky little redheads is coming to Columbus. In this fun-filled musical, Annie foils evil schemes, befriends the President and finds a new family for herself and her loveable mutt, Sandy. Annie boasts one of Broadway’s most memorable scores with songs including “Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street” and “Tomorrow.” Bet your bottom dollar you won’t want to miss this family-friendly musical!

King Avenue Players is presenting a Staged Reading of The Laramie Project by Moisѐs Kaufman, on Friday, October 12, 2018. This reading is in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the death of Matthew Shepard, the young man who, in October 1998, was savagely beaten and left to die in Laramie, Wyoming.

THE LARAMIE PROJECT is a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable.

The cast will consist of four men and four women each portraying up to ten separate characters.

Rehearsals will be on Thursdays beginning September 6th from 6:30 to 9 PM.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

Please bring a calendar and any conflicts with you to auditions. A headshot or picture with resume would welcome.Rehearsals are planned for Thursday evenings, starting September 6, 2018.
